Notorious RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg
When the Capital Jewish Museum (CJM) in Washington, DC prepared to open a new building in Summer 2023, the museum engaged IMW to lead the installation of a special exhibition that would open at the same moment, Notorious RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, on loan from the Skirball Cultural Center. IMW project managed the preparation of the temporary exhibitions gallery, and curated a coda to the exhibit using objects from the CJM’s collection and new artifact loans.
With the museum still under construction, IMW worked with the Capital Jewish Museum’s staff and contractors to ensure the temporary exhibitions gallery came together ahead of the opening of the rest of the building.
IMW also arranged for new loans, negotiated loan extensions, managed couriers, and wrote exhibition text for a coda to RBG’s story curated especially for the Capital Jewish Museum. This coda added a local component to RBG’s national legacy. It paid special attention to her Washington, DC community and the way this community memorialized RBG following her death in September 2020.
