IMW served as a representative of the seller in The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples, which took place at Christie’s New York April 18-19, 2023. This single-owner sale netted over $13 million, through both live and online auctions featuring nearly 400 lots. This unparalleled corporate collection included a number of complete portfolios: Barnett Newman’s Cantos, David Hockney’s A Rake’s Progress, Andy Warhol’s Flowers, Henri Matisse’s Jazz, and El Lissitzky’s Victory Over the Sun.

Over the course of one year, IMW guided the seller through the sale process— from evaluations of the collection, to interviews with auction houses and galleries, to negotiation of sales terms. Christie’s notes that, “with many of these works coming to market for the first time in several years, the collection is one of the most important selections of Prints and Multiples to ever be auctioned.”
